Toward Integrating Natural-HRI into Spoken Dialog
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper summarizes our previous works in modeling non-verbal behaviors for natural human-robot interaction (HRI) and discusses a path for integrating them into spoken dialogs. While some non-verbal behaviors can be considered “optional” elements to be added to a spoken dialog, some non-verbal behaviors substantially require a harmonized plan that simultaneously considers both spoken dialog and non-verbal behavior. The paper discusses such unique HRI features.

Example-based Spoken Dialog Processing for Guidance Robots
In this paper, we introduce a natural language interface for human-robot interaction (HRI) to develop building guidance robots. We have developed POSTECH Spoken Dialog System for Guidance Robots (POSSDS-GR). POSSDS-GR consists of automatic speech recognizer, spoken language understanding, dialog manager, natural language generator, and text-to-speech synthesizer. Each module is designed and imp...
متن کاملIntegrating layer concept inform ation into n-gram modeling for spoken language understanding
The paper presents a novel approach, integrating layer concept information into the trigram language model, to improve the understanding accuracy for spoken dialogue systems. With this approach, both the recognition accuracy and out-of-grammar problem can be largely improved. The concept error rate is therefore reduced. In the experiment using a real-world airticket information spoken dialogue ...
متن کاملDialogStudio: A workbench for data-driven spoken dialog system development and management
Recently, data-driven speech technologies have been widely used to build speech user interfaces. However, developing and managing data-driven spoken dialog systems are laborious and time consuming tasks. Spoken dialog systems have many components and their development and management involves numerous tasks such as preparing the corpus, training, testing and integrating each component for system...
متن کاملI Feel You: The Design and Evaluation of a Domotic Affect-Sensitive Spoken Conversational Agent
We describe the work on infusion of emotion into a limited-task autonomous spoken conversational agent situated in the domestic environment, using a need-inspired task-independent emotion model (NEMO). In order to demonstrate the generation of affect through the use of the model, we describe the work of integrating it with a natural-language mixed-initiative HiFi-control spoken conversational a...
متن کاملIntegrating spoken dialog and question answering: the ritel project
The Ritel project aims at integrating spoken language dialog and open-domain information retrieval to allow a human to ask general questions (e.g. Who is currently presiding the French Senate?) and refine her search interactively. This project is at the junction of several distinct research communities, and has therefore several challenges to tackle: real-time streamed speech recognition with v...
